Do Fitness Personal Trainers Eat Fat?

Yes, we do! But it all depends on the type of fat. Unhealthy fats include fat from plants or fats that have been processed into trans or hydrogenated oils. Healthy fats include olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil or oils from raw nuts. This excludes peanut oil. Peanuts are a legume, not a nut.

We need to consume fat to survive. Each cell in our body has an outer lining made of fat. Unhealthy sources of fat damage this lining – the cell’s lipid membrane. Healthy fat promotes a healthy and permeable lipid membrane. Each cell’s membrane needs to be permeable to remove toxins from within the cell. Permeability also allows nutrients to enter into the cell.

I am a fan of mayonnaise, but most mayo products are made from plant oils and contain sugar and preservatives. Today I made my first batch of homemade mayonnaise. It was easy and very delicious!
